Saturday, June 23, 2007, Francesca with her friend, we decided to do a bike ride to the nearby countryside of Castel Maggiore in the province of Bologna. From Trebbo of Reno, we are on the Via Galliera, a street with heavy traffic along the banks of the river Rhine and a bit 'dangerous for those who want a leisurely jaunt on a bike.
Continuing north, after a few miles, often because of risky overtaking at high speed of cars passing through, we preferred to continue in the smaller streets that flank the main road in an irregular way.
reach the village of Grove, we made a stop to quench our thirst in the kiosk that handles Association the homonymous small pond fishing village.
Speaking with the friendly restaurateur, who along with another younger collaborator and taciturn, he gave us a warm welcome, we knew that to return to Trebbo, we could follow a track that lies beside the River.
I had already heard of this path, but I had not given much importance to it because of my previous walks, I realized that it was a track more suited to pedestrians and bicycles.
Intrigued by the enthusiasm of my party, I asked for an explanation and say that I felt that way was not so busy, because the grass was cut and why the path was not always maintained in good condition.
His speech went on, informing me that there was an old project that relate to this natural path along the river Rhine, which would start from Sasso Marconi and many municipalities across the plains of Bologna, would reach the city of Ferrara.
Recalling with concern as the car sped away fast Galliera a few inches from my shoulder and how much I love the peace and quiet of nature, I immediately had a vision in my mind.
A vision that attracted me to the magic that track along the Rhine and that with the passage of time, would have taken more and more consistency in me.
